A 2.5-l 4-cylinder drivetrain delivers 152 hp. However, according to first impression, V6 will be more popular, with great output, almost equal to some V8 engines. Base drive is 4×2 on rear wheels, but 4×4 is also available on 2015 Frontier. Power is sent through 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. There is also 6-speed manual transmission on V6 and 4×4 models.

Although battle of the mid-size trucks is going on in US, North American model are not the biggest competitor for 2015 Nissan Frontier. It is Tacoma from Toyota. Also, US-based trucks must be taken seriously. The GM has their new Canyon and Silverado pick-ups offered in 2015. If these could be offered in diesel variation, they would become more serious competitor. However, the 2015 Frontier will lead the race in this segment with many new and upgraded existing features.
