2017 Nissan Frontier
New 2017 Nissan Frontier is not expected before 2017. A lot of changes could be made on this truck, but all plans are still secret outside the company. People of Infiniti will wait to see feedbacks for 2016 year model to start upgrading its failures. However, more stylish features and performance upgrade are certain. Also interior equipment is going to get updates, and new hi-tech stuff will be installed. We still have to see what kind of features will be used in coming Nissan vehicles, but we are sure the newest Nissan Connect infotainment will come with 2017 Frontier.
2017 Nissan Frontier engine
Cummins engine is installed in latest Frontier trucks. It is one of the best known companies that produce diesel powertrains, and they have been placing their models in Nissan for long period. We doubt this cooperation is going to come to an end any time soon, so it is likely that Cummins will made drivetrain for 2017 Nissan Frontier. Latest truck is equipped with 2.8-l unit which can develop 300 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. We are sure these numbers are about to go higher, and we must not exclude new drivetrain. An eight-speed auto gearbox sends power to either front or all four wheels. Other one gives much better driving experience.
2017 Nissan Frontier styling
As it is already told, infotainment will be up-to-date. Also, seats and dashboard could be refreshed in the 2017 Nissan Frontier cabin, while new materials will bolster upholstery. Number of new features depends on many factors. One of these is engine, which is unknown yet, and also trim levels, and it is also too early to talk about these stuff. However, styling will be refreshed. Design of the exterior will be revisited, probably bed will suffer most changes. More lightweight materials is about to be used and body panels will be made of more aluminum.
2017 Nissan Frontier price and competition
New 2017 Nissan Frontier is not expected to make huge moves on pricing comparing to current vehicles. This truck shouldn’t go higher than $25.000 for base models, while higher trims depend on features list. New Colorado from Chevrolet and GMC Canyon are main competitors from US companies, while Toyota Tacoma is one of the best-selling vehicles in North America

Why isn’t Nissan making a long bed for the Frontier in 2017?
Probably because its front wheel drive based. Imagine trying to clime a grassy hill with 10 bags of quickcrete at the rear of a long bed in a fwd. Fwd pickups are for soccer moms. Dang it nissan!
If the front wheel drive default is true then I an crossing Nossan of my list.
I want a 6 spd manual rear wheel drive. Would be nice to have a 5.5 ft bed.
I’m highlighting the Frontier on my list because of the front wheel thing. Front wheel drive is more stable in wet/icy conditions. I’m also giving the Frontier extra points because they have manual transmission options. For me – no manny tranny – no sale. Couldn’t care less about the infotainment crap though. Would rather have less electric conveniences too. I would rather roll my windows down with a crank handle than press a button. Power steering is nice though, gotta have that… and air conditioning. Why do they advertise audio in the bed? What is that for? In any case, I’m going to seek one of these out for a test drive.
am looking that they build a 1 ton , with cummins diesel extend cab 4 door vehicles are for show for families not a true proven work truck with 8 foot box and 4 wheel drive too bad I want one for my farming operation also my 5th wheel trailer does not work on a shorter box as it has 6 ft top load platform that I use
Go for the titan. Really interested in frontier diesel. Given the torque should be able to tow a boat and a decent size trailer
Hear nothing of the 4cyl Diesel on a Frontier, manual. That’s what waiting on.Unless it is front wheel drive any news on it?
