There are rumors telling about diesel engine in the 2018 Infiniti QX50. This could be turbo-diesel unit with displacement of 3.0-l. Less power and more torque is coming from this type of powertrain. Also, we believe diesel can do better in fuel economy. Transmission will be the same, a 7-speed automated, and both drive systems are used on this type of engine. Braking system and suspensions are new, with new shocks and discs.

  1. What is the width and length of the Infinity qx50. I need a car no wider than 71 inches and not longer than 190 inches

    1. Infinity QX80 Dimensions
      Overall length (inches) 210.2
      Overall width (inches) 79.9
      Wheelbase (inches) 121.1

  2. Does the 2018 qx50 have the same acceleration pedal as the 2016 qx50? My pedal stuck wide open with the 2016 qx50; it exceeded 80 mph on its own… I almost got in a major accident because I had to slam on the breaks to stop it on icy roads. VERY SCARY! Dealership said it was the design of the pedal in connection with salt from the roads. We have video of this ‘design flaw’ – which is what the dealership called it. Please let me know if this pedal design has been addressed for others who drive in winter areas where salt is used. Thank you!

  3. Will the rear hatch open automatically or just as in 2017 be manual?

    1. Unfortunately, just manual. Most SUVs in the QX50 class do have that feature. The next model 2019 Infiniti QX50 I believe will have this feature.
