The famous sedan is coming refreshed as 2019 Nissan Maxima, according to latest reports. Nissan’s flagship sedan has been around for decades and it is one of the leaders in this competitive segment.
The original model came way back in 1980. For these almost four decades of production, we have seen eight generations. The current model is present for about three years. Considering Nissan’s relatively short production cycles, it is clear that the next year will bring changes. Moreover, the testing model has been spotted already. It seems this will be a classic facelift, which will bring changes on both ends of the car, speaking of the exterior design.
On the inside, some changes as possible as well. When it comes to the powertrain, we don’t expect changes. The exact launch date is yet to be announced, but our source claims 2019 Maxima will come by the end of summer.
2019 Nissan Maxima changes
Speaking of novelties, we expect to see plenty of them. The 2019 Nissan Maxima will come with plenty of changes. Of course, the focus will be on the facelift. Various new details will come when it comes to the styling. Naturally, most of the changes will come at the front. Expect to see a completely new front fascia and some tweaks on the bumper. When it comes to the grille and headlights, some tweaks are also expected. On the rear end, the 2019 Nissan Maxima will come with changes as well, but not so intense.
Finally, expect things like new wheels design, new exterior colors etc. On the inside, we don’t expect bigger changes in terms of cabin design. The dashboard will remain pretty much the same. On the other side, plenty of new equipment should come.
2019 Nissan Maxima features
Another important change for the 2019 Nissan Maxima will be in terms of more equipment. The base trim level organization will remain the same. Each version will come with plenty of novelties. This especially refers to things like advanced safety and driver-assist system, including optional ProPilot self-driving system.
Still, the core will remain the same, just like we’ve mentioned. There are five trim levels in total – S, SV, SL, SR, and Platinum. The base S trim so far included things 18-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, remote engine start, keyless entry and ignition, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, adjustable driving modes, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, 8-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and an eight-speaker audio system. Even for this base model list of standard looks pretty impressive, so there won’t be much to add. Other trim gradually adds more equipment, which includes not only more hi-tech feature and more convenience but some styling tweaks as well.
2019 Nissan Maxima engine
The only certain thing about 2019 Nissan Maxima is that the engine will remain the same. It is a familiar 3.5-liter V6, which for this occasion delivers around 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque. It comes in a pair with revised CVT, which delivers power to front wheels, while AWD is optional. Such amount of power is enough to provide pretty nice numbers in terms of speed and acceleration. This full-size sedan needs around 5.7 seconds to reach 60, while a top speed goes over 130 miles per hour. On the other side, fuel economy goes around 21 in the city and 30 mpg on a highway.
2019 Nissan Maxima release date and price
As we’ve already mentioned, the 2019 Nissan Maxima should come by the end of summer. Price should remain the same, which means around 34.000 dollars.
Competition is pretty tough. There are models like Toyota Avalon, Chevy Impala, Kia Cadenza, Chrysler 300 etc.
