2019 Nissan Titan Changes, Diesel, Price
It seems that Japanese manufacturer is preparing one big novelty for the 2019 Nissan Titan. This capable truck has been around for years. The original version came in 2003 and it was in production for full 12 years. Finally, the second generation came in 2016, once again based on the legendary Patrol SUV, which is offered internationally. Consider how long production of the original model lasted, it is pretty much for sure that the so-called mid-cycle refresh won’t come so soon. However, this doesn’t mean that we won’t see novelties.
The 2019 Titan will come with a new engine. Just like many of its competitors, Nissan will also offer a V6 version of its truck, which will be cheaper, meaning more attractive to the wider range of potential buyers. Besides a new engine, rest of the truck shouldn’t be changed drastically.
2019 Nissan Titan design remain the same
As we just mentioned, base design characteristics are about to remain the same. We will see pretty much the same truck which came with numerous changes in 2016. For the redesign, the company prepared numerous novelties. The second generation has finally received a new platform, same that Nissan uses for the famous Patrol SUV.
The styling of the 2019 Nissan Titan will remain unchanged. This truck features pretty much the same front end as Nissan Armada, as well as the interior design. Speaking of the interior, we don’t expect bigger changes. Basically, the next-year model could get only those novelties that are usual for yearly updates. We could see few additional exterior colors, new schemes inside, and some new standard features for each trim level. There are five trim levels in total – S, SV, SL, Platinum Reserve and the off-road-oriented Pro-4X.
2019 Nissan Titan trim levels
A trim level organization will remain the same, but each version could get few novelties in terms of equipment. The most important difference compared to the current model will be a new V6 engine, which will probably be the base engine for S and maybe SV trim. Besides new engine, the S trim should remain pretty much the same, featuring only those most basic things like air conditioning, cloth upholstery, 5-inch color display, Bluetooth, NissanConnect with Mobile Apps, and a six-speaker audio system. Higher trims gradually add more and more standard equipment, so with top models, you can count on plenty of comfort and convenience.
There is also a Pro-4X trim, which doesn’t just add more equipment, but also comes with numerous unique visual details. More importantly, this off-road oriented trim includes special off-road suspensions, tires, brakes, shields and much more.
2019 Nissan Titan engines
The biggest novelty for the 2019 Nissan Titan will be a new V6 engine. This unit will be the base engine. Although we still didn’t get an official confirmation, it is pretty much for sure it will be a familiar 4.0-liter V6 unit, which recently found its place under the hood of new Patrol. This particular version of the engine is good for about 275 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque.
Rest of the offer will remain the same. There is a familiar 5.6-liter gasoline engine that delivers around 390 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque and comes in a pair with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
If you prefer a diesel engine, there is a 5.0-liter Cummins engine, which is good for about 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes in a pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
2019 Nissan Titan release date and price
The 2019 Nissan Titan should come this fall. Considering that the new base, V6 engine is about to come, we expect that the starting price will be lower. The current base model goes around 31.000 dollars, but the new V6 version should be at least 2.000 dollars cheaper, if not even more.
