Nissan GT-R is sports coupe, which was launched in 2007, as successor of legendary Skyline GT-R. However, the “GT-R” badge is present for much longer time. Because of that, company plans to introduce a special, “Gold” edition this year. This model will come as company’s celebrate of 45 years of Nissan’s GT-R sub-brand. New model will be simply called 2016 Nissan GT-R 45th Anniversary Edition.

As you probably know, this model is under production for over eight years, so 2016 Nissan GT-R 45th Anniversary Gold Edition is probably company’s attempt to keep this car fresh until next-generation model comes, which will be in near future. Current model is available in three trim levels. There is an entry-level GT-R Premium, which goes around 101.000 dollars, then Black Edition which costs around 10.000 dollars more and finally a high-performance variant GT-R NISMO, which comes with more than 600 hp and goes around 150.000 dollars. The 2016 Nissan GT-R 45th Anniversary Edition will be based on entry-level GT-R Premium. Compared to base model, this special edition will come with few unique details.
The most notable feature will be new paint. Since it is called “Gold Edition” it is easy to guess which color will be. It is a Silica Brass color, the same that was used for R34 2001 Skyline GT-R M-Spec. Beside new color, 2016 Nissan GT-R 45th Anniversary Gold Edition will also feature several minor tweaks such as badges and similar stuff. When it is about body style, it will come with same changes that came on standard model, which are mostly on the front and rear end.

The 2016 Nissan GT-R 45th Anniversary Gold Edition should cost only for about 1000-1500 dollars more, compared to the base GT-R Premium, which goes slightly over 100.000 dollars. According to the latest reports, this special edition will come in limited number. Only 1000 units will be available for the U.S. market.
