Powertrain for the new 2017 Nissan Titan could be V6. Current model uses V8 but it could be downgraded only if new, smaller unit could offer similar output. This truck is far from economical vehicle, with its 15 mpg combined, so that is the main reason why engineers will try to install smaller powertrain. Possibility of the V6 is confirmed, but nothing is definite yet. Current 5.0-l V8 Cummings diesel option offers 300 hp and 405 lb-ft. It is still unknown whether these numbers are going to be near. Cummings could be returned for 2017 Titan, but this information is still unclear, since there is no official confirmation for it. There is also predictiof of some experts that new truck could crop power and boost torque up to 500 lb-ft for better performance, especially towing.

  1. I love this truck but I need more HP/Torque and a diesel to take my eyes off of the big 3. I have a GMC 2500 hd with 763 torque and 397 HP. I use it all towing my rather large RV (15.500 lbs). Though it can tow 17000+ the payload is somewhat limiting in my case with 2700 lbs. Wish you would step up and give the big 3 some competition.
