The 2019 Infiniti Q60 is pretty much about to continue in the same way as the current model, without bigger changes, at least when it comes to base models. The brand’s new naming policy has brought this model five years ago, as a successor of the legendary G series.
The initial model was simply a renamed version, while the second generation is actually the first Q60 around. It came two years ago, so it is pretty much early to speak about some bigger changes. Most likely, this coupe will wait for another year for a mid-cycle update. Still, this doesn’t mean that we won’t see changes for the next year.
Besides minor tweaks to the base model, in terms of standard equipment, 2019 Q60 should also get a new, hi-performance version. It will be called Black S and should come along with base models, by the end of the year.
2019 Infiniti Q60 changes
When it comes to base models, we expect no changes. The same design we saw originally two or three years ago will remain pretty much untouched. This means same chassis and other mechanical stuff. The aspect of styling will also remain unchanged. This model completely follows brand’s latest design language, so it is irrational to expect bigger changes for the next year. The 2019 Infiniti Q60 will continue in the same way.
On the other side, we could see few additions in terms of standard equipment for each trim level. Still, the base trim level organization will remain unchanged. There are several versions in the offer, which gradually add more and more standard equipment, but also more powerful engines. Speaking of engines, there are three units in the offer.
2019 Infiniti Q60 engines
The base 2019 Infiniti Q60 will continue with the same 2.0-liter unit from Mercedes. It is good for about 210 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and it comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Both 2WD and 4WD are available.
A mid-range version comes with a 3.0-liter V6, which is good for about 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The same engine is also available in a more potent version, with 400 horses and 350 pound-feet of torque.
Both variants use the same 7-speed automatic and they are also available in both 2WD and 4WD layouts.
2019 Infiniti Q60 Black S
The 2019 Infiniti Q60 Black S is a new version which should come for the next year. This would be a hi-performance version, with a new powertrain. A familiar twin-turbo V6 gets help in shape of the electric motor. So, this hybrid configuration should provide some astonishing performances. We still don’t know the exact numbers, but some sources suggest total output of more than 500 horses. Besides new engine, this version will also come with numerous chassis modifications which will provide even better performances. After all, this version should compete with German models that carry AMG or M badge.
Besides all those mechanical tweaks, we should see some styling tweaks as well. In order to accentuate car’s hi-performances character, 2019 Infiniti Q60 Black S should get numerous new styling details. Count on things like new bumpers, bigger rimes, and similar things. Interior changes are also expected. Some new details in terms of trims, interior schemes, and aluminum details are always welcome.
2019 Infiniti Q60 release date and price
The 2019 Infiniti Q60 should come in usual time, which means somewhere late in the year. When it comes to the price, don’t expect changes. Base models will go slightly under 40.000 dollars.
Competition in the segment is tough. There are models like BMW 4 Series, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Audi A5 and many other cars.
