2020 Nissan Armada Review, Diesel, Price

Some would say that the Armada is too older to be a tough competitor in the segment but the fact is that this SUV still has a lot to offer. Although introduced in 2016, this model actually features a decade-old design, which is heavily based on the famous Patrol. It features completely same mechanics, which the aesthetical aspect of the vehicle is also pretty close. Some reports were suggesting an update for the next year, but it looks that Nissan doesn’t plan to make bigger changes for the next year. The 2020 Nissan Armada is about to continue in the same way, with familiar design characteristics.

Count on the same appearance, as well as on mechanics. The same goes for the rest of the vehicle, so we should see a familiar interior layout and powertrain. Practically, the best we could see is a couple of new standard features. Other than that, things will remain untouched. Therefore, don’t expect to see 2020 Nissan Armada’s launch before the last quarter of the year.

2020 Nissan Armada Redesign

In terms of base design characteristics, there are no secrets about this SUV. Although just a three-year-old model, it actually features much older design, as it is based on the famous Patrol SUV. Therefore, it has a lot of things to offer, starting with excellent handling and amazing driving dynamics. Besides great driving experience, you can also count on amazing reliability, as well as on quite stylish exterior design. Despite the age, this model still looks pretty good. It comes with a classic SUV layout, with pretty conservative aesthetics, so it’s no wonder it doesn’t show any sign of aging. Therefore, we don’t expect to see bigger styling changes for the next year. The best we could get are novelties in terms of additional exterior colors and similar things.

On the inside, the Armada looks pretty stylish, Although some design solutions on the dashboard look a little bit outdated, there is no doubt that this SUV features one of the finest cabins in the class, which is in higher trims pretty much on par with premium models. The overall interior quality is great, especially if we look at the quality of materials.

Armada Interior

When it comes to comfort, this SUV accommodates up to eight people. First and second rows are pretty generous in terms of legroom and deliver excellent comfort for long rides. The third row is also quite decent and can accommodate adults as well. Seats are massive and with great support, definitely among bests in the class. On the other side, the cargo area could be better. You can count on 16.5 cubic feet behind the third row, while the overall capacity goes up to 95 cubic feet. Most rivals offer more cargo space.

Tech and Safety Features

When it comes to tech features, the biggest complaint goes to the infotainment system, which looks a little bit outdated. Graphics aren’t that great, while the menu could be more intuitive. Also, the Armada lacks in terms of smartphone essentials, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other than that, things are pretty amazing, as the list of standard equipment includes things like dual-zone automatic climate control and an infotainment system that includes an 8-inch touch screen, navigation, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, satellite radio, Bluetooth, four USB ports, and voice recognition. In higher trims, you can also get a moonroof, rear-seat entertainment system, etc.

When it comes to safety, all models come with a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic forward emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, etc. This quite impressive list can be even more expanded in higher trims, with things like surround-view camera system, blind spot monitoring, backup collision intervention, lane departure warning and many more.

2020 Nissan Armada Engine

The 2020 Nissan Armada is about to continue with a well-known 5.6-liter V8 engine, which is good for about 390 horsepower, which is more than enough for the convenient ride. Strong acceleration is combined with excellent handling, and these things make Armada one of the most driveable models in the class. When it comes to the fuel economy, things aren’t that great. The large V8 engine returns around 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway, which is some of the lowest ratings in the class.

2020 Nissan Armada Release Date and Price

Considering that there are no bigger changes to come for the next year, the 2020 Nissan Armada is expected to hit the market sometime late in the year, probably in December. When it comes to the price, the current model starts at around 47.000 dollars and things shouldn’t be much different from the 2020 Nissan Armada.
