2020 Nissan Micra Gets Updated

No matter the popularity of crossovers, we have no doubt that small city cars will always be in high demand. And, when someone mentions city cars, the Micra is definitely one of the first models that come to mind. The famous nameplate has been around for decades and it was always one of the household names in the class. Although the current generation has been around for just a couple of years, various reports are suggesting updates for the 2020 Nissan Micra. It is still unclear whether we are about to see a facelift or just minor updates. In any case, some of the visual updates are definitely coming.

Other than that, we could see a couple of additions in terms of standard equipment, while it also looks like we are about to see a new, performance version in the offer. Still, the 2020 Nissan Micra shouldn’t come much earlier than usual, probably sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2020 Nissan Micra Changes

This update is about to bring a certain amount of changes for sure. However, we still don’t know the details. On the other side, we have no doubt that base design characteristics are about to remain untouched. The current generation of this small hatchback rides on the company’s second generation of the famous B platform, also known as V platform. It has brought a lot of improvement in terms of ride quality, so we doubt there will be some changes in terms of mechanics for the next year.

On the other side, visual changes are definitely possible. As we already mentioned, details are still unknown, but we may presume that most changes will be made at the front end. Still, keep in mind that the current model follows the company’s new design language completely, The Micra doesn’t feature distinctive styling anymore, but rather a familiar design, based on the company’s famous V-Motion philosophy.

Therefore, we could probably expect to see smaller-intensity changes. For example, some revisions on the front bumper, as well as on front fascia seem quite possible. Also, expect new color options and similar kinds of updates.

In this aspect, we don’t expect to see bigger changes, at least when it comes to the overall cabin design. The 2020 Nissan Micra should continue in the same way, with same dashboard layout, while novelties in terms of color schemes seem quite possible. Other than that, we could see a couple of additions in terms of standard equipment, but the core organization will definitely remain untouched. That definitely isn’t a bad thing, considering that the cabin of the current model looks quite attractive. Typically for small cars, there is a lot of hard plastics, but this cabin is definitely a nice place to be in.

This three-cylinder unit gets help from a turbocharger, so a max output goes around 100 horses. Another 1.0-liter engine is in the offer, though it features a little bit different design.

This one is good for about 115 horsepower. Finally, there is a diesel engine in the offer. Of course, it is a 1.5-liter dCi unit from Renault, famous for its impressive fuel economy. Of course, there are new wheels, as well as things like door mirror caps, gloss black finish on side moldings etc.
