After a pretty unsuccessful episode on the European market, this hatchback is now focused on parts of the world like China and Russia. In these parts of the world, the demand for Pulsar is still pretty good, so it’s no wonder that the company is expanding the offer.
For the next year, one of the biggest novelties is expected to be a performance version of the compact sedan, which is about to come as the 2020 Nissan Pulsar Nismo. Of course, all kinds of upgrades are expected, starting from a more powerful engine, upgraded suspension, and various styling novelties. The new model is expected to arrive in the next couple of months.
2020 Nissan Pulsar Nismo Engine
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the engine. At this point, details are still unavailable but we are pretty sure we won’t see that crazy 275-hp unit from 2014. Given the situation in the Chinese and Russian markets, we presume that the company would rather go for something more affordable. Therefore, it’s no wonder that most reports are suggesting an upgraded version of a familiar 1.6-liter turbo-four, which currently delivers around 188 horsepower. Therefore, we will probably see the same version of the engine that powers Juke Nismo, which is good for 212 horsepower.
Some reports suggest another possibility, which is about a turbocharged version of a 1.8-liter engine, something we’ve seen in the Sentra Nismo concept several years ago. This engine delivers around 240 horsepower. Still, the first option seems far more likely to us.
2020 Nissan Pulsar Nismo Exterior
Of course, a more powerful engine won’t be the only upgrade we will see in the 2020 Nissan Pulsar Nismo. Naturally, we expect loads of mechanical upgrades. They refer mostly to chassis and suspension setup. We will see new dampers, springs, and various other suspension parts which will provide a lower center of gravity, which in practice means better cornering, acceleration, and braking. Of course, new brakes are expected too, as well as several more tweaks that will provide better aerodynamics.
When it comes to aesthetics, various upgrades are about to come as well. Naturally, a new body kit is the first thing that comes to mind. We count on new bumpers, as well as on a new spoiler. Also, we may see things like side skirts, rear diffuser, and similar upgrades that have big impact on aerodynamics. New wheels and color options are other things we expect to see, as well as new exhaust tips.
When it comes to the interior, upgrades are about to come as well. The overall cabin layout will remain the same, but we count on several novelties that will make it look much sportier. Some of the first things that come to mind are new sporty seats. We may also see new materials, including Alcantara seats, while the dashboard may come with a bit of carbon fiber and similar materials. If not, we should see new interior color schemes at least.
Considering that we are talking about a performance version, a new instrument cluster is also expected, as well as a flat-bottomed steering wheel. Finally, we presume this model will also come with a couple of exclusive additions to the list of standard equipment.
2020 Nissan Pulsar Nismo Release Date and Price
According to most reports, the 2020 Nissan Pulsar Nismo could come in the next couple of months. Still, keep in mind that these are just rumors and that the company is still quiet on this matter. If it arrives, we presume that the price would go around 25.000 dollars.
