2020 Nissan Sentra Is Coming Completely Redesigned

Big things are coming from Nissan in the next year, at least when it comes to this small sedan. The Sentra is a well-known name around the world and competes for decades. However, it came to North America only six years ago. Still, it instantly established its position on the market, with pretty impressive sales numbers, considering that crossovers are taking over the market. These days, we are eagerly waiting to see the next-generation model, which is about to come as the 2020 Nissan Sentra. We will see a lot of novelties, starting from a completely new styling, new interior layout and more.

Also, changes under the hood are expected as well. Compared to the outgoing generation, it will feature a far more attractive look, while the cabin will look more upscale. Engine power boost and better fuel economy are also the things you can count on with the upcoming model.

2020 Nissan Sentra Redesign

Like any other redesign, this one will bring some core changes, even bigger than you would probably expect. So far, this model was considered as a great budget sedan and it was the first choice usually of those who need a cheap and reliable vehicle. However, the 2020 Nissan Sentra is about to become much more than that. The company wants to make it much more appealing, to a wider range of drivers.

To make such thing possible, Nissan will come with a complete makeover in terms of the styling. Dimensions are quite the same as on the outgoing model but are about to see a significantly more attractive exterior. The new 2020 Nissan Sentra will adopt the brand’s newest design language, the latest version of the famous V-Motion grille design. The grille is more massive and goes deeper, while headlights are narrower and with sharper angles. Finally, the bumper is sharper and has much bigger air intakes and new fog lights. From the side, you will notice a nice sloping roofline, but the thing that leaves the biggest impression, other than the front end, is 2020 Nissan Sentra’s muscles, especially around rear wheels.

This is another aspect where we expect to see improvements compared to the current model. Simply, the outgoing Sentra is primarily a budget car, so it doesn’t feature any spectacular interior quality. It comes with the dashboard which looks a little bit outdated and features mostly hard plastics.

Fortunately, this will change a lot in the 2020 Nissan Sentra, as we are about to see a completely new cabin, with much more style and plenty of qualities. The first thing you’ll notice is a new dashboard, which looks far more attractive. The integrated infotainment system has been replaced with the new, tablet-like screen, though it doesn’t feature touch-sensitive control. Also, nice round air vents are another nice touch, while many surfaces now feature nicer and better-looking materials. Of course, that won’t be all from the 2020 Nissan Sentra’s new cabin. We also count on a long list of advanced tech features. Besides typical gadgetry and other tech goodies, we expect to see a lot of advanced safety systems. Some of the highlights will be things like Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Driving Alert to anticipate hazardous situations, etc.

2020 Nissan Sentra Engine

If we can rely on the latest reports, the 2020 Nissan Sentra will continue with two familiar gasoline units under the hood, though both of them should receive a couple of modifications. Base models will continue with a familiar 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated engine, which currently delivers 124 horsepower. For the new model, it is expected to get a slight power boost, so a max output would go up to 137 horsepower. Of course, it will be paired with a CVT once again.

We also expect to see a performance version, under the Nismo badge. We are pretty sure that the company will use a familiar turbo-four engine, which delivers 188 horsepower in the current model. It should also come with a slight power boost, probably up to around 200 horsepower.

Some reports are also suggesting a hybrid version in the future, but definitely won’t be ready for the initial launch.

2020 Nissan Sentra Release Date and Price

Considering that we are about to see a completely new model, the 2020 Nissan Sentra should come earlier than usual. At this point, we still don’t know the exact details. Still, we believe the new model will hit the market sometime in the third quarter of the year. When it comes to the price, we are pretty sure that the new model will be more expensive, although Nissan will try to keep its budget reputation. Therefore, base trims will probably remain affordable, while the better-equipped models are about to come with a notable price increase.
