The Q70 is a good but also a quite old model, so it’s no wonder that many reports are suggesting a complete redesign in the near future. However, it looks like that won’t happen in the next year or two, so the 2021 Infiniti Q70 is expected to carry on in the same way, with familiar design characteristics and the same engines under the hood. We may see a couple of additions to the list of standard equipment, but event these changes shouldn’t be too significant. Therefore, we presume it will hit the market in a typical time, sometime in the last quarter of the next year.
2021 Infiniti Q70 Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2021 Infiniti Q70 will keep in the same way. This model has been around since 2011 and it relies on a good-old FM platform. In terms of the styling, it received updates several years ago and we can say that the current model still looks pretty attractive. Still, the model pays the debt to its age. So, handling and overall driving dynamics aren’t on the level you would expect from a modern luxury sedan. Also, the ride can be a little bit firm sometimes.
The same thing goes to interior design. The dashboard features some shapes that were typical for previous generations of premium cars. Naturally, the infotainment system is also outdated and misses some of the modern tech essentials, including smartphone integration. However, the overall interior quality is pretty impressive. Materials are pretty amazing, while higher trims include wood accents and similar details. The thing we like about this sedan is a great design of seats, which are massive and supportive, perfect for long rides. The second row is also pretty generous in terms of space.
2021 Infiniti Q70 Engines
The engine lineup is something we really like about this car. There is plenty of powertrain options in the offer. North American drivers can choose between standard V6 and large V8 as options. The base 3.7-liter V6 is good for about 335 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. If you opt for a large 5.6-liter V8, you can count on a quite impressive output of 420 horsepower, which ensures pretty amazing driving dynamics.
In Europe, a 2.0-liter turbo-four has been added last year, with a max output of 208 horsepower. Also, you can find diesel options in this part of the world. There is a 2.2-liter turbo-four with around 170 horsepower, while a bigger 3.0-liter V6 is good for about 238 horsepower.
The Q70 may not feature the latest tech goodies, but the list of standard equipment is pretty long. There are things like moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, an 8-inch infotainment system, navigation, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, and satellite radio and we presume that the 2021 Infiniti Q70 will continue in the same way. In higher trims, you can also get a premium audio system and similar things.
When it comes to safety, all models come with things like automatic headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 360-degree parking camera. You can also get safety systems like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, active lane keep assist etc.
2021 Infiniti Q70 Release Date and Price
Considering that there are no bigger changes to come with the 2021 Infiniti Q70, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for a typical time of year, sometime in the last quarter of 2020. The price should also remain pretty much the same, which would mean around 50.000 dollars. Range-topping models can go pretty close to 70.000 dollars.
