The QX70 has been discontinued a couple of years ago. Still, that doesn’t mean it won’t come back. If we look at its shape, we can easily see that this model has something that characterizes many crossovers today, a roofline that looks a lot like a coupe car. Such vehicles are becoming more popular these days, so we may presume that the 2021 Infiniti QX70 could easily come back in the near future, especially if we consider the arrival of brand-new QX55, which is a coupe version of the compact QX50.
In terms of the price, the new model would be slotted between QX60 and QX80, while the size would be typical for the mid-size crossover segment. Naturally, we count on new engine options, as well as on all kinds of new technologies, including various interior features.

2021 Infiniti QX70 Redesign
Of course, the first thing we should consider about the 2021 Infiniti QX70 is its base design. There’s no doubt that the new model will come together with the redesign of QX60, which is currently pretty old and outdated by many standards. Therefore, the two models would share most design solutions, including both styling and particularly mechanics. Naturally, this means a new platform for both models. Given the fact that Nissan currently uses the old D platform for a mid-size crossover, we may presume a switch to a newer and more modern CMF architecture and its stretched version.
This change would bring significant improvements in terms of handling and overall driving characteristics, which are some of the weakest points of the current model. Of course, the efficiency should be improved as well, particularly in terms of fuel economy. Weight reduction, new engines and better aerodynamics are just some of the things that come to mind when it comes to this redesign, or comeback if you like.
Styling
One of the most prominent design characteristics of the new model should be its styling. As we already mentioned, we count on a coupe layout. The new model would come with a sloping roof layout, something similar to the new QX55, just in a bigger package. On the other side, the front end of the car should be pretty much the same as on the next-generation QX60. Still, the QX60 is yet to come, so we can’t tell how exactly the new model will look like.

We count on the same design language as on the compact QX50/55 models, which would definitely be a good thing, considering that the two models are among prettiest in the class. Of course, a couple of distinctive details seem natural as well, as we are talking about a flagship crossover. More details should be known in the near future.
Interior
In the past, Infiniti cabins were often criticized for too many plastics and subpar interior quality. That’s not the case anymore, so we have big expectations from the new model. Given the model’s body style, we may expect a little bit tighter cabin compared to a more traditional QX60. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is less headroom in the second row and smaller cargo area. This model will definitely come with just two rows of seats.
On the other side, the dashboard layout will be attractive and should feature great overall quality. Soft-touch surfaces and fine materials are the things we count on, while the latest tech goodies also seem like a certain thing. This includes the latest infotainment system, which should come with a single, large touchscreen instead of the current dual-screen setup.
2021 Infiniti QX70 Engines
Once again, we count on a lot of novelties. It is hard to say which exact engines are about to power the new 2021 Infiniti QX70, but we presume that base versions will come with the company’s new 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is good for 268 horsepower. The engine is powerful but also very efficient. It features variable compression, which helps a lot in achieving some pretty strong mpg ratings. Still, higher trim levels will probably come with something more powerful. Of course, we count on six cylinders and a turbocharger. It may be a familiar 3.0-liter V6, which comes in two output variants, with either 300 or 400 horsepower.
Finally, we won’t exclude the possibility to see a hybrid version of the new crossover. It could be a traditional hybrid setup, but a PHEV version sounds possible as well.

2021 Infiniti QX70 Release Date and Price
The 2021 Infiniti QX70 is just speculation at the moment. The company management is still quiet on this matter, so you should take this article with a reserve. If it ever arrives, we presume the new model would probably go around 55.000 dollars.
