0

The upcoming 2022 Infiniti Q50 is getting further upgrades. This luxury sedan will go on sale in the coming weeks. And while the Q50 model offers impressive bodywork, some parts are still behind the biggest competitors. That mostly includes a very odd interior with a confusing dual-touchscreen infotainment setup.

On the other hand, a twin-turbo V6 engine provides great performance. On top of that, the Red Sport 400 variant looks and performs amazingly. The upgrades are not so significant, but most of the changes are more than welcome.

2022 Q50 Exterior Changes

As we said, the bodywork of the 2022 Infiniti Q50 is impressive. Generally, this luxury sedan looks great, combining modern styling with a sportier stance. The 2022MY comes with mild updates. There will be some changes in the lineup of trim levels, so Luxe is now a new entry-level variant. Infiniti will add more standard features, but mostly inside the cabin.

As for the exterior, we couldn’t find notable visual upgrades. Still, the design is great and Infiniti offers a large choice of optional wheels, color paints, and more. If you want more muscles, the Red Sport variant is the way to go.

Interior Upgrades

More updates will happen on the inside. The 2022 Infiniti Q50 will introduce more standard features. For instance, Luxe trim level now offers a standard 16-speaker premium Bose sound system. Moreover, Infiniti provides leather upholstery, additional safety systems, and a power-adjustable steering column as standard.

Moreover, a new Saddle-Brown interior color scheme is available as well. The interior is full of luxury, with open-pore-wood trims, an impressive HVAC system, and the latest wireless phone integrations. Unfortunately, this sedan will continue to offer a confusing dual-screen infotainment system.

V6 Specs: Power, MPG

No matter which trim level you choose, every 2022 Infiniti Q50 comes with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. This gasoline unit comes with a seven-speed automatic transmission and a choice of either RWD or AWD systems. On the other hand, the engine is available in two different outputs. The standard output develops 300 horsepower.

If you opt for the Red Sport variant, the engine will provide 400 horses. We like smooth shifting on the Q50 sedan and the adaptive steering system. As for fuel efficiency, the Q50 model delivers 20 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway. In terms of torque ratings, the regular output is rated at 295 lb-ft, while the Red Sport model generates up to 350 lb-ft.

2022 Infiniti Q50 Release Date, Price

The sales of the 2022 Infiniti Q50 will begin in the coming weeks. The new model comes with not-so-dramatic upgrades, so the price won’t increase too much. However, some changes in terms of trim levels will occur. Thanks to that, base Luxe trim will now cost $43,000.

The Sensory trim level is available for $48k and the Red Sport version for $57,000. Of course, the AWD system will cost you an additional $2,000. New Q50 sedan will continue to rival BMW 3 Series, Cadillac CT5, and Audi Q3 models.
