The QX60 is currently Infiniti’s best-selling model. Now, the 2022 Infiniti QX60 is getting a complete redesign. Significant upgrades will happen in some other areas, including the cabin. The QX60 model will remain a mid-size three-row SUV.
After the manufacturer skipped the 2021MY for obvious reasons, the 2022MY is already in the works. We expect to see numerous mechanical upgrades, more high-tech features, and much more. The sales will begin in the coming months and here is everything you need to know about the new QX60.
Infiniti QX60 Exterior Redesign
The upcoming 2022 Infiniti QX60 is getting a redesign. Infiniti has updated the previous generation’s bulbous design with a more muscular look for the new QX60. The new model looks more graceful, especially the front fascia with the brand-new grille. The enormous “INFINITI” writing spread across the rear is also impossible to miss.
The styling of the new QX60 was influenced by the Japanese minimalist idea of “Ma,” which stresses negative space over decorative details. The QX60 is now somewhat higher and slightly shorter than previously, while it still has a 114.2-inch wheelbase. Although the ground clearance has increased to 6.8 inches, this is still primarily a model for casual city rides.
Interior Updates
Similar treatment will continue on the inside. New 2022 Infiniti QX60 will introduce even more high-quality materials and more high-tech amenities. Interior overhaul starts with a new dashboard. A 10.8-inch head-up display looks amazing and it comes with a couple of touch buttons for climate control. A 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is also available.
Infiniti will add quilted stitching, new upholstery, and new interior color schemes. Headroom is more ample, which cannot be said for the legroom. Anyway, comfort is higher than before, and QX60 SUV will be safer than ever before. Like in the previous years, QX60 will remain a three-row mid-size SUV.
New Transmission
Unfortunately, the new 2022 Infiniti QX60 comes with only one engine choice. It is a familiar Nissan’s 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with 295 horsepower. On top of that, this engine produces 270 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, there is a new nine-speed automatic transmission, replacing the current CVT gearbox.
The QX60 SUV offers either front-wheel-drive or optional all-wheel-drive. The engine provides 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in around 6.4 seconds. Besides that, the manufacture will introduce numerous driving modes.
2022 Infiniti QX60 Launch Date and Cost
The forthcoming 2022 Infiniti QX60 will cost around $48,000. It is a price of the Pure trim level that comes with a standard panoramic moonroof and power liftgate. The AWD system is optional and it cost an additional $2,000. The range-topping Autograph trim level will start at about $65,000. The sales will begin in the coming months, by the end of the current year.
