2022 Nissan Maxima Redesign, Release Date, and Price

0

The upcoming 2022 Nissan Maxima could arrive with a redesign, according to numerous reports. Interestingly, the eight-gen Maxima arrived in 2016 and since then, it didn’t change that much. This four-door sports car, on the other hand, could arrive with another mid-cycle facelift. At this moment, we don’t know that much about the Maxima model, so we are waiting for Nissan to provide more information.

Some changes will happen, but we can’t confirm a complete redesign right now. Anyway, both the exterior and the interior will gain numerous refreshments. However, nothing will change under the hood. This means the Maxima will once again deploy a potent V6 engine. The sales will begin later in 2021.

2022 Maxima Redesign

Since 2016, the Nissan Maxima has had a sleek, sports-car-like exterior that sets it apart from the rest of the sedans in the segment. However, the 2022 Nissan Maxima could get a complete redesign. This is just a rumor, so don’t be surprised if the Maxima model gains another mid-cycle facelift. Few vehicles can equal its elegance and its great performances.

Nissan will once again deliver this sleek and athletic design, no question about it. Some reports are saying that the Nissan won’t focus on its sedans, including Maxima and Altima variants. The goal is to provide sleeker crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks.

Interior Upgrades

Inside, the 2022 Nissan Maxima maintains its sporty character with dark colors and chrome accents. Moreover, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a swoopy dash, and a cockpit-like vibe up front are on the offer too.

The Maxima also comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Optionally, this sedan provides power-adjustable seats, leather upholstery, and other premium features. These design cues and characteristics will gain some improvements, but we can’t call it an interior overhaul.

Impressive Safety Ratings

The Maxima sedan received the Safety Shield 360 package as standard in 2020, and we expect it to stay so in 2022. Thanks to that, the 2022 Nissan Maxima offers automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control systems. Moreover, blind-spot monitoring is also standard. Customers can also choose a surround-view camera.

The current Maxima was named an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ because of its sophisticated equipment and a plethora of outstanding crash-test results. We anticipate that these ratings will remain, or maybe slightly improve.

Engine Specs

The forthcoming 2022 Nissan Maxima is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission, which sends power to the front wheels. Though the powerplant might need a minor upgrade, we expect the 2022 Maxima to retain the same configuration. The electrification won’t happen for sure, although you can find a lot of rumors regarding the new hybrid powertrain.

2022 Nissan Maxima Price, Release Date

The new 2022 Nissan Maxima will arrive later this fall and the price will start at around $38,000. Maxima is a premium mid-size sedan with so much to offer. It will compete with other models in the segment, including Mazda 6, Volkswagen Arteon, and Honda Accord.
