The upcoming 2022 Nissan Patrol is getting a couple of interesting upgrades. This body-on-frame SUV will offer Nismo and Warrior editions. Both variants are unique and are more performance-focused. And while the regular Patrol SUV won’t introduce significant changes, these two variants will represent a huge refreshment.
At this moment, we know everything about the Patrol Nismo model. As for the Warrior model, it will go on sale in Australia, in limited numbers. The Patrol Warrior is still a mystery, but this model will surely deliver a lot of off-road goodies. Without any further ado, here’s everything you need to know.
2022 Patrol Nismo
Nissan redesigned the Patrol in September 2019, but the sportier Nismo version is just now being shown. The 2022 Nissan Patrol Nismo will borrow a couple of things from the Armada is a body-on-frame SUV. That includes a beefier body package and more red accents inside and out than the regular model.
The high-performance Patrol has enormous 22-inch wheels, a Formula 1-style LED fog light, a rear diffuser, and large exhaust tips. Nissan has given the front grille a honeycomb design, and decorated it with the Nismo emblem to better distinguish it from the ordinary model.
The Patrol Nismo is powered by the same 5.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 with 428 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque, mated to a seven-speed automatic. That’s 28 horsepower more than the regular V8 Patrol with the same torque. Nismo has tweaked the suspension with a Bilstein configuration for quicker cornering, on a mastodont.
Inside, the Nismo-tuned Patrol has the same two-screen layout as the standard model. Despite the facelift, the SUV’s interior looks dated. After all, the sixth generation came out a decade ago, so a new model is long overdue.
Nissan Patrol Warrior
The forthcoming 2022 Nissan Patrol Warrior will arrive after the Nismo variant. This model still requires worldwide approval, and the huge local demand for the conventional Nissan Patrol is proving a hurdle. That’s terrible news for Warrior enthusiasts, but excellent news for Toyota, which won’t have to worry about the Warrior stealing exposure from the Land Cruiser 300 Series later this year. Anyway, the Patrol Warrior SUV will deliver improved off-road ability.
This means the Warrior model will introduce improved mechanics, skid plates, rock rails and other off-road goodies. On the other hand, this version won’t introduce higher level of performance. Thanks to that, the Patrol Warrior will deploy the same 5.6-liter V8 engine with 390 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque.
2022 Nissan Patrol Price, Release Date
The all-new 2022 Nissan Patrol SUV will hit the dealerships by the end of 2021. This model will cost around $50,000 or slightly below that. The Nismo variant will surely cost significantly higher, just like the Warrior model. And while the Nismo model will arrive this year, the Warrior Patrol version will be on sale next year. Moreover, this model will be sold in Australia exclusively.
