The upcoming 2022 Nissan Sentra is a compact and affordable sedan, coming to the markets in the coming months. The Sentra model was completely redesigned in 2020. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine provides power, which is transmitted to the front wheels via a continuously variable automatic gearbox (CVT). The Sentra is a step up from the Versa and sits just below the bigger Altima in the Nissan hierarchy.
We don’t anticipate any significant modifications for the 2022 model year, as the Sentra is still quite new following its makeover. If anything, Sentra already offers an impressive list of equipment. Still, this modern sedan will introduce some new features and hopefully minor upgrades such as new exterior colors. On the other hand, the Sentra Nismo variant is the latest rumor, and this model could happen in the near future.
2022 Sentra Gets Mid-Cycle Facelift
The new 2022 Nissan Sentra will retain the newly updated looks that have garnered much praise from consumers. The front end will be dressed sportily and a little aggressively, courtesy of the Nissan V-motion grille. The side profile is attractive, along with the body lines. Sentra also offers a low ground clearance, and coupe-like back glass which provides a mature look.
Overall, the sedan stands out from the competition. It also offers very modern headlights, sharper front fascia, and unique exterior colors. This sedan is 71.5 inches wide and 182.5 inches long. The platform won’t change, so the Sentra model will retain its current dimensions.
Inside, the new-generation Sentra maintains its mature and more upmarket appearance. The 2022 Nissan Sentra comes with a deliberately swoopy dashboard, circular air vents, dash-top touchscreen, sleek center stack, and flat-bottom steering wheel. Buyers may enhance the vehicle’s appearance with optional black and brown paint schemes and quilted leather seats. This is one of the segment’s finest interiors, even in its entry-level trims, and we anticipate it to continue in the 2022 Sentra.
With a standard 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and keyless ignition, the Sentra is no slouch in terms of technology. Sentra’s offered features include an 8-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch car information display, and a Bose audio system. These features and choices should carry over to the new model. Still, the cabin changes are minor.
What About Sentra Nismo?
The forthcoming 2022 Nissan Sentra comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Unlike the previous version, there is no turbocharged engine available, however, one may be added in the future. Some reports are also suggesting a hybrid powertrain as a possibility for the future.
Sentra sedan sprints from 0 to 60 mph in nine seconds. Moreover, this model delivers 33 mpg combined, which is great. The latest reports are strongly suggesting the Sentra Nismo variant. It is a sportier high-performance model, that will allegedly use a turbocharged engine with almost 300 horsepower. However, no words from Nissan yet.
2022 Nissan Sentra Release Date and Price
The new 2022 Nissan Sentra will start at about $20,000 for the basic S model. The price difference between the entry-level Sentra and the most expensive Sentra is rather little. The Sentra SR is priced at approximately $22,000, despite being the most expensive of the three major trim levels. With everything included, Sentra won’t cost higher than $25,000. This popular sedan will go on sale this fall.
