Remember the QX70 SUV? If you don’t, this model was available until 2017, before Infiniti replaced it with the QX50 model. Now, the 2023 Infiniti QX70 will make a comeback, at least according to the most recent reports. Now, five years ago, the QX55 SUV is perhaps the most popular brand’s model. The bigger is better when it comes to modern SUVs, so QX70 will reportedly make a huge return.
This time, we expect a coupe crossover instead, with a lot of novelties. Like any other Infiniti, the QX70 will be a luxury model with premium styling, a very modern cabin, and more than solid performances. The goal is to rival European luxury SUVs made by Mercedes, Audi, and BMW. Without further ado, here’s everything we know about this model at the moment.
Infiniti QX70 Engine Specs
The upcoming 2023 Infiniti QX70 will share the powertrain option with the QX60 SUV. We are talking about a potent 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with 295 horsepower. On top of that, this unit also provides 270 lb-ft of torque. The front-wheel-drive system will be offered as standard, along with the automatic CVT transmission. Reportedly, the new QX70 will be able to tow around 5,000 pounds.
The AWD system will be optional, which comes as no surprise. This coupe crossover will be lighter than the rest of the QX models in the lineup. Some rumors are predicting an optional engine that will be able to provide 400 horsepower, however, this is unlikely to happen. Standard V6 engine gets 29 mpg on the highway or 28 mpg with the AWD configuration.
Brand-New Interior Design
We think the dashboard will look a lot like the one in the QX60. The cabin of the 2023 Infiniti QX70 is made of premium materials. There are also a lot of tech features, like the digital instrument cluster, a big infotainment screen, and the newest phone integrations.
On the other hand, the Infiniti QX70 would be a lot less useful because of its body style. We think there would be just two rows of seats, and while both rows would have a lot of legroom, we think the second row would have a little less headroom. If you are tall, you may have trouble in this area because the roof slopes. There wouldn’t be a lot of space in the cargo area for the same reason.
Coupe-Like Exterior
As for the exterior design, the new 2023 Infiniti QX70 will feature a recognizable styling. This model will not depart from the QX60 SUV. However, the QX70 model will arrive with a coupe-like appearance, providing a sloping roof.
We also expect to see a longer wheelbase than on the current QX60 variant. Still, this is a recognizable design language, with premium exterior features, especially wheels and exterior paints. Infiniti will provide the first official details in the coming months, so we’ll have to wait for another month or two.
2023 Infiniti QX70 Release Date, Price
The all-new 2023 Infiniti QX70 will cost between $55,000 and $60,000. We don’t know that much about the trim levels and optional packages at the moment. Infiniti will launch its new coupe crossover SUV in the last quarter of 2022.
