2023 Nissan Juke Hybrid Provides Over 30 Miles of Electric Range

0

Nissan continues with its plan to electrify as many vehicles as possible. The 2023 Nissan Juke Hybrid is one of those models that will largely benefit from Nissan’s plan. Unfortunately, an all-electric variant won’t happen anytime soon.

Still, a hybrid powertrain will surely improve Juke’s efficiency and it will also add more power. Besides that, Juke crossover will slightly grow in size, which will result in an additional interior room. Nissan will deliver further exterior and interior changes, so here’s everything you need to know.

Nissan Juke Hybrid Specs

A new hybrid powertrain is developed by Renault and Nissan. It is the “E-Tech” system available in Renault Captur and Renault Clio models. Renault is using a 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated engine with 93 horsepower and 110 lb-ft of torque. The electric motor adds 48 hp and 151 lb-ft, which is a significant upgrade in terms of performance. Moreover, there is a 1.2 kWh water-cooled battery. Unfortunately, Nissan didn’t say anything about the 2023 Nissan Juke Hybrid.

We don’t know if the carmaker will mix a hybrid system with a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine or with a larger 1.5-liter diesel unit. Smaller displacement already provides a high level of fuel efficiency. Therefore, we believe that the 1.5-liter engine will be combined with an electric motor. Currently, this engine is capable of producing 110 horsepower. Reportedly, Juke Hybrid will generate over 150 hp and it will get a very impressive mpg rating. On top of that, this crossover will offer an all-electric range of around 34 miles.

Interior Changes

The interior of the forthcoming 2023 Nissan Juke Hybrid will receive additional upgrades. This means the hybrid variant will get more changes than the regular Juke version. The Juke Hybrid will get a hybrid-specific gauge in the instrument cluster. Nissan will also introduce new graphics for the standard 7-inch touchscreen.

Furthermore, this model will gain additional buttons for the e-Pedal feature. The battery will reduce cabin room, but the new Juke will slightly grow in size. Like the rest of the Juke lineup, the hybrid model will get the same c-shaped air vents, simplified controls on the steering wheel, and a new interior color scheme.

Styling

The 2023 Nissan Juke Hybrid will slightly depart from the regular Juke crossover. This model can be distinguished by an active shutter, different grille, and hybrid badges on the front doors and the tailgate. The rear spoiler is also slightly different, although this change is not so easy to spot.

17-inch alloy wheels are standard, while the 19-inch aero wheels will be optional. The same wheels are present on the new Nissan Ariya electric crossover. We think the model will look striking, especially the front fascia. Nissan will introduce a longer wheelbase variant and new exterior colors.

2023 Nissan Juke Hybrid Price, Release Date

The Japanese carmaker didn’t reveal the price of the new 2023 Nissan Juke Hybrid. Right now, gasoline-powered Juke starts at around $25,000 so a new hybrid model will surely cost around $30,000. The sales will begin by the end of summer 2022.
