The upcoming 2023 Nissan Serena minivan is going on sale soon. A completely redesigned Serena will be sold in Japan, in the coming months. It is a new design, but Nissan also decided to provide numerous interior updates. In terms of performance, the hybrid version is available.
And while the minivans are not as exciting as before, Serena will offer high practicality, good comfort, and much more. This model is on sale since the early 90s, so it comes with a tradition. With so many upgrades on the way, here’s everything you need to know about the new Serena minivan.
Exterior Revamp
For a start, the 2023 Nissan Serena comes with a recognizable boxy shape. Thanks to that, the new version will offer more interior room than before. Serena minivan has a very modern front fascia with thinner headlamps and a larger grille. The sliding door on the passenger side is hands-free from now on.
A complete lighting system is equipped with LEDs, as standard. It is a cleaner design with a more modern approach, and we also expect to see brand-new exterior colors. The Serena model is 184.6 inches long and 66.7 inches wide. However, some trim levels are slightly longer and wider.
Nissan Serena Interior
According to Nissan, the interior will provide more space than ever before. The 2023 Nissan Serena will offer additional 4.7 inches of driver legroom. The interior will receive a dramatic overhaul. Thanks to that, everything on the inside will be more modern and more upright. The manufacturer will add a new switch-type shifter, water-repellent upholstery, additional USB ports, and Wi-Fi.
Interestingly, every passenger has their own air condition control. Nissan plans to introduce a ProPilot 2.0 safety suite with hands-free driving technology. Of course, this feature will be available in the range-topping Luxion trim level. Generally, there will be lots of brand-new features, either standard or optional.
Engine Specs
Under the hood, the forthcoming 2023 Nissan Serena will have a 2.0-liter gasoline engine. This naturally-aspirated unit produces 150 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. The CVT automatic transmission comes as standard, just like the 2WD system. The all-wheel-drive setup will be optional once again. If you are looking for efficiency, Serena has a hybrid variant as well.
It uses the e-Power hybrid system, combining it with a 1.4-liter gas engine. Total output is rated at 163 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the assistance of the electric motor, Serena Hybrid will provide more power and also improved fuel economy ratings. Finally, the hybrid version can be used as a power source.
2023 Nissan Serena Price and Release Date
The price of the new 2023 Nissan Serena will start at around $20,000. If you want the range-topping Luxion trim level with the e-Power hybrid system, you’ll end up paying almost $35,000. The sales will begin in the coming months, in Japan, while the hybrid version will go on sale in the first half of 2023.
