The new 2024 Nissan Altima is not getting a redesign. Usually, Nissan builds a new-gen Altima every six years. Since the 2019MY arrived as the first model in the sixth generation, the redesign will not happen before 2025. However, the 2024 Nissan Altima will receive some interesting upgrades. This sedan will get a couple of exterior and interior refreshments.
However, nothing will change under the hood, per reports. New Altima will go on sale later next year, and the price will not change, according to the information we have. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Altima sedan.
Mid-Cycle Facelift
Things are going not so well for the Altima model. This car is one of our favorite models. But the truth is that the Altima model hasn’t changed that much recently. The 2024 Nissan Altima will not receive a complete redesign, but some changes will happen. Furthermore, the sedan segment is dying, as people are more into modern crossovers and SUVs. Nissan won’t give up on this stylish car, not yet. The next Altima sedan will get a new front fascia.
This is where the biggest changes in the 2024MY will happen. We expect to see completely new headlights, a more upright grille, and a new front bumper. The rear section will also get a new bumper, while the taillights will most likely remain intact. We also expect some minor and barely visible changes on the hood and doors. This is maybe the last mid-cycle upgrade, as Nissan is about to prepare the next-gen model.
Nissan Altima Interior
The forthcoming 2024 Nissan Altima will remain a mid-size sedan with a roomy cabin. The interior looks elegant, with decent cargo space and passenger room. The current dashboard looks quite simple, so we hope to see some upgrades on and around the dash. We assume the materials will remain, so don’t expect a higher level of comfort or anything similar.
However, Altima should get more high-tech amenities, along with some new safety aids. Most likely, new features will be optional in the base trim level. There will be an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen once again, so expect drastic improvements shortly after the 2024 Altima arrives.
Specs
Under the hood, the 2024 Nissan Altima will offer the same engines as the outgoing model. Everything starts with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 188 hp. There is an optional turbo-four unit with almost 250 horsepower. The Altima sedan provides a standard front-wheel-drive system. Moreover, a CVT automatic transmission is on offer.
You can get an all-wheel-drive setup as an option. What we like about Altima is its high fuel efficiency. Therefore, Nissan will not offer a mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid model yet. However, the next-gen Altima should receive one of these powertrain options.
2024 Nissan Altima Price, Release Date
The price of the new 2024 Nissan Altima will remain intact, per reports. This means the mid-size sedan will cost $26,000. The Altima Platinum will cost closer to $40,000, which is a small price increase. The sales will begin in the second half of 2023, and after that, Nissan will introduce the next-gen Altima model.
