The forthcoming 2024 Nissan Leaf SV Plus is the new model. It will bring more power and improved driving range, which is great to hear. The SV Plus edition will add around 50% more horsepower and almost 50% more driving range. Of course, Nissan will prepare numerous modifications, firstly for the 2023MY and shortly after for 2024MY.
Therefore, expect various cosmetic upgrades, as well as updates inside the cabin. The Leaf is a very popular and reliable hatchback, competing with Chevy Bolt EV and Tesla Model 3 for the top spot in the segment.
Nissan Leaf SV Plus Looks More Upright
The styling of the 2024 Nissan Leaf SV Plus will not change dramatically. After all, SV Plus is a new version. For 2023, it will get redesigned front fascia with a new grille, headlights, and bumper. Moreover, Nissan will add a unique illuminated badge.
The tires are brand-new and the rear section will gain a slightly different shape for improved aerodynamics. 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels are standard on the SV Plus version. Dual-tone wheels are optional, while you can also opt for the two-tone roof design. With all these updates, the 2024MY will receive only a minor facelift.
Interior Upgrades
The interior will also see a couple of interesting improvements. New 2024 Nissan Leaf SV Plus comes with a black interior scheme, including black leather upholstery with gloss black finishes. Nissan added nice badging on the steering wheel and the display now shows a new start-up video. The comfort is good, especially after Nissan improved some areas in order to provide more enjoyable ride quality.
The SV Plus trim level has more standard features, a new infotainment system, and a couple of standout amenities. Generally, the cabin is very cozy, although the Leaf hatchback is not as spacious as some other models in the segment.
Improved Performance by 50%
The forthcoming 2024 Nissan Leaf SV Plus comes with a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a potent 160 kW electric motor. On the other hand, a regular Leaf has a 40 kWh battery and 110 kW motor. Because of that, the SV Plus adds more power and also provides a better driving range, of up to 50%. Reportedly, this model will produce 214 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque.
That is more than enough for such a small hatchback. We must say that the base Leaf hatchback has 147 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. The driving range will increase from 150 to 212 miles, which is quite an improvement.
2024 Nissan Leaf SV Plus Price, Release Date
The price of the 2024 Nissan Leaf SV Plus will start at $36,000. The entry-level model has a starting price of around $28,000. The famous Leaf model appeared in 2011 and it was the best-selling electric car in history. However, since March 2020, Tesla Model 3 is more popular. On top of that, Nissan said that the Leaf hatchback will stop production by 2025. Therefore, the 2024 Leaf could be the last model ever produced. As a replacement, Nissan plans to introduce a compact SUV based on the CMF-EV platform.
