The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder will receive minor updates. However, one big upgrade is reportedly on the way. Yes, a hybrid powertrain is happening. The Pathfinder SUV will keep its current V6 option, but the hybrid model will provide more power and significantly better fuel efficiency.
The rest of the vehicle will mostly remain, with only minor changes in terms of appearance and interior. The Pathfinder model will go on sale in the second half of 2023. The price will remain and Nissan will most likely unveil more details by the end of the current year.
Nissan Pathfinder Exterior Facelift
We don’t think there is potential for further significant upgrades except for the new hybrid powertrain. The next 2024 Nissan Pathfinder will maintain the recently unveiled design. The styling of the current generation is entirely different from the previous one and appears to be much more upright. So, while there is always a possibility for minor improvements, Nissan won’t deliver dramatic cosmetic upgrades.
The mechanics are the same. The same architecture supports this SUV, which is a good thing. The Pathfinder model has good handling and rides quality. This model has a few traction control modes for off-road driving, but with only seven inches of ground clearance, it’s hardly an actual off-road vehicle.
While not so good at off-roading, the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder will be a true family SUV. It comes with an upscale cabin, providing a high level of comfort and lots of passenger room. Like the exterior, we don’t expect major updates on the inside. This means the interior layout will largely remain. Moreover, the dashboard and instrument cluster will be a carryover as well. Nissan will provide an updated infotainment system while keeping the standard 8-inch touchscreen.
Furthermore, we expect to see new driver-assistance aids. All new aids will be available as an option. The Pathfinder will continue to offer Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, tri-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Of course, wireless features, Bluetooth, USB-C ports, and a premium sound system will be on offer too.
Engine Specs and Hybrid Rumors
The forthcoming 2024 Nissan Pathfinder might include a new drivetrain, according to reports. This means the hybrid model could be on the way. Nissan is likely to use e-POWER technology in this situation, which operates somewhat differently from a conventional hybrid system. In particular, electric motors operate the wheels, and the gasoline engine serves as a generator.
Of course, you can still choose the traditional 3.5-liter V6 engine, which produces about 284 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The AWD system will be optional once again. Lastly, a regular V6 gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. No doubt, a hybrid powertrain will improve the fuel economy, while also delivering slightly more power.
2024 Nissan Pathfinder Price and Release Date
With minor changes, the new 2024 Nissan Pathfinder should keep its current starting price of $36,000. Of course, a rumored hybrid variant will surely cost above $40k. This three-row SUV will hit the dealerships next fall, per reports.
