The upcoming 2024 Nissan Versa SR is a very modern, sporty, and affordable car. Unlike the base Versa model, the SR trim level brings additional features and much more. At the moment, we don’t know if Nissan plans to provide significant upgrades. Probably not, as the new-gen Versa arrived three years ago. Versa is a compact car, and it is on the road since 2004.
Surprisingly, Versa provides good interior room, including generous cargo capacity. On top of that, Nissan Versa delivers good fuel economy ratings and more than solid performance. It is a popular choice, as this is a very practical model. However, sedans and hatchbacks are not as trendy as they used to be.
The 2024 Nissan Versa SR is the range-topping trim level. Indeed, this car has three trim levels, but SR is the best option you can get. Unlike the other two options, the SR variant is sportier and more premium. It comes with a more upright grille, reshaped headlamps, and taillights. Furthermore, Versa SR rides on larger trim-specific 17-inch wheels.
Additionally, this version offers a unique Gray Sky Pearl color. It definitely looks flashier than the base Versa, and its price is still affordable. And while we don’t expect major visual upgrades, Versa SR will continue to look modern and upscale. Nissan’s current design language is easy to spot, with bolder creases, unique textures, and a recognizable V-Motion grille.
Nissan Versa SR Interior
On the inside, the 2024 Nissan Versa brings a couple of surprises. As we said, the cabin is surprisingly spacious, including the cargo area. The dashboard is very modern and SR trim level comes with soft-touch surfaces, unique contrast stitching, and a larger infotainment touchscreen. The infotainment system is responsive and easy to use, while the center stack is very straightforward.
The SR trim level offers a couple of standard features that are optional on the base version of the Versa model. However, the SR variant is full of driver-assistance aids, and most of them are available as standard. Generally, the cabin is modern and comfortable, and we expect a couple of updates in the following months.
No matter which Versa you opt for, you’ll get the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine is capable of producing 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. This is more than enough for such a compact sedan. However, it would be nice to see an optional and more potent powertrain in the future.
The acceleration is not so great, as Versa SR sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds. On the other hand, Versa SR provides 35 mpg combined, which is quite impressive. This version uses front-wheel-drive as standard and CVT automatic transmission.
2024 Nissan Versa SR Price and Release Date
Right now, the current SR trim level is available for $20,000 or slightly less than that. The 2024 Nissan Versa SR will probably retain its current price. You can add a couple of optional features, but it will still be an affordable sedan. The sales will begin this summer, and we hope that Nissan will provide slightly more than a minor refresh.
