According to the most recent reports, the brand-new Infiniti Crossover is on the way. This model will go on sale later in 2024. Right now, we don’t know much about this crossover. However, we do know that it will be based on the redesigned QX60 SUV. Two models will share the same architecture, same styling, and much more.
On top of that, it will be a mid-size crossover, something Infiniti missed for years. Unlike the three-row QX60, the new model will be a two-row crossover, reportedly. Therefore, the new model will slot between the QX50 and QX60 SUVs. Naturally, new crossover will compete against Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class and Lexus RX. With so much more to come, here’s what we know at the moment.
Engine Specs
At this point, new Infiniti Crossover is a mystery in so many ways. However, new model will have a lot in common with the new QX60. Thanks to that, it is easier to predict a vehicle’s specifications. The most likely outcome is a 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood. This reliable and potent engine develops 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque (220 kW/366 Nm).
A nine-speed automatic transmission will come as standard, but the all-wheel-drive system will be optional. Like its sibling, the new crossover will provide a standard front-wheel-drive setup. Currently, the QX60 SUV has 6,000 pounds of towing capacity, while the new model will be able to tow more than that. In terms of fuel economy, this new crossover will get 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
Exterior and Interior
The all-new Infiniti Crossover will deploy the same design as the recently redesigned Infiniti QX60. Moreover, two models will sit on the same architecture. However, while the QX60 is a model with three rows, new model will be a two-row mid-size crossover. With the same design language, we don’t expect any surprises, so a recognizable exterior design will be present. What we like about the QX60 is the appearance of the upper trim levels, especially when equipped with 20-inch wheels.
The interior will be very upright and there will be room for five occupants. Everything on the inside looks convincing and modern and the level of comfort is admirable. Dual-zone climate control will come as standard, along with the most recent phone integrations, navigation, and numerous safety aids. One big improvement over the QX60 model should be larger displays, both standard and optional. On the other hand, we don’t know how many trim levels or special editions will be on offer.
New Infiniti Crossover Will Cost Around $40k
The upcoming model will be a mid-size crossover, which is great to hear, as Infiniti currently lacks a model in this segment. The Infiniti Crossover will hit the dealerships later in 2024, per the source. However, launching a new model in early 2025 is also a possibility. As we said, this new version will slot between the QX50 and QX60 models. Therefore, its price will be around $40,000 or slightly below that.
